This will be a replacement for a much-loved but disintegrating vintage sweater in a wonderful 60's slime green. I'm using a very nice Malabrigo (Rios/Lettuce) merino for the piece, which is lovely in the hand and pleasantly variegated. Love the swingy shape and clean detailing! It'll be so nice to not have to deal with the bulk of assembled pieces. Now, to find the right buttons! I’m almost to the point of starting the lace pattern, and am loving it! Comment on free pattern: calling all … elves? by Ladyhawk http://www.flintknits.com/blog/?p=179#comment-10773 Ladyhawk Sun, 30 Dec 2012 00:22:26 +0000 http://www.flintknits.com/blog/?p=179#comment-10773 Thanks for this great pattern. I made a pair each for my children (25 and 22) as surprise Christmas presents. Oh yes, they were surprised and delighted by turns. I also now have orders for next Christmas. I did have problems with the top of the sock being far to tight to get a foot through after felting, however I cut into the sock at the front and made them into lace ups. Just to finish this I knitted and added to each sock a tongue made just like the leaves around the ankle, neat. The sock has truly felted and does not appear like it will undo at all. Fingers crossed and all that. Thanks for this great pattern. I made a pair each for my children (25 and 22) as surprise Christmas presents. Oh yes, they were surprised and delighted by turns.
