new home! new pattern!

Welcome to flintknits.com!

If you have any feedback or suggestions about the site design, please let me know!

In honor of the new home, I have a (very simple) new pattern to offer:

tipsy rib scarf

Tipsy Rib Scarf: The Scarf of the Beast

DOWNLOAD NOW!

I named the scarf “tipsy” because of the combination of the deep merlot-colored yarn and the diagonal rib that looks like it’s leaning just a bit to one side.

Then I realized that the finished product measured exactly 6×66 inches. Clearly, it is the devil’s own accessory.

Appropriate for all occasions, you can wear this simple scarf to séances, shopping malls, and church potlucks with equal aplomb.

MATERIALS:
• 3 balls Artfibers Ming (50% silk, 50% merino; 143 yards; color #17) or other worsted-weight yarn
• 4.5mm (US 7) straight or circular needles

  2. Thanks for the pattern. I like your new digs.

  3. Great new pattern & great new site! I chuckled when I read the scarf’s dimensions hehe :)

  4. I’ve got the perfect yarn for this beautiful scarf pattern (thanks!), but I’m a bit afraid of knitting it to your exact specifications. You see, I grew up in an extremely catholic home, and the nuns at my all-girls school used to terrify us with cautionary tales of how to avoid getting possessed by Satan (mainly by avoiding sex, heavy metal music and horror flicks. Hey, it was the early 80’s, Black Sabbath and the Exorcist reigned supreme)

Anywhoo, I was really freaked out by the number 666 when I was a kid. Of course now I think it’s all fairy tale silliness. But still….

Congrats on your new site, it’s fetching.

Re: blog design: LOVE. very nice. Only one downside, though: I feel like the buttons for adding comments should be close to the bottom of the entry, so that after you read the entry the button is right there. that way you don’ t have to scroll up and down if you’re reading and commenting on multiple entries.
