I am going to run out of yarn
Yep. I was sure I had a second skein of this lovely Dream in Color yarn, but it’s nowhere to be found. Sadly, I also can’t find the label to this one, so I’m not even sure what colorway it is. “Lipstick Lava” maybe?
Anyway, I’m going to sit on it for a while before I frog, because it’s so damn pretty and squishy.
In lieu of real knitting content (as I curse the yarn gods, as well as my own shortsightedness), please enjoy last night’s dinner:
Throw a few handfuls of arugula in a food processor or blender with garlic, basil, and a bit of hard cheese. Blend it up. Drizzle in some olive oil as you keep processing. Stir in salt and pepper.
Cook some penne in lots of boiling salted water. Throw in some chopped green beans (same size as the noodles) for the last 3 minutes of cooking time. Put it all together with some fresh chopped tomatoes on top.
Those of you in the US, enjoy your day off! I’ll be spending mine at Flint’s 2nd annual Lumberjack Fest. I missed the flapjack breakfast, but am hoping to arrive in time for the live music and feats of strength (log rolling, log splitting, log tossing). It’s really just a bunch of my friends having a cookout with a theme, but it’s tons of fun.

I bet that other skein is hiding somewhere. glad you decided to wait to frog!!
That pesto looks amazing. Mine with Kale turned out great too - looks like you can make it from just about anything green!

How do you feel about changing color for the bottom? It’s so cute, I would hate to see it frogged unnecessarily…. Your dinner looks delicious!

You know I just got burned with that very same pattern and running out of koigu!!! Yikes. I’m sure the colorway is ‘Lipstick Lava’ and I know Borealis yarns has some as I saw it there yesterday–good luck!!

The February Jacket is just precious! I want to knit that one day!! I was too mesmerized by the sweater that I didn’t read your despair until later! LOL I hope your LYS has the yarn you need or you can make the right guess of which colorway to order!!! Heck! Make it two-tone!!! :Op
MMhh dinner looked good!
Enjoy your day!

I hope you can find some more yarn, because that looks like one lovely, squishy-soft sweater!
Also, my mouth is totally watering over your photo of last night’s dinner!
July 4th, 2007 at 10:11 pm
Oh no! And it’s so beautiful in that yarn. I bet that other skein will pop up when you least expect it!

I am a fan of this little sweater. Every version I see makes me want to knit it up.
And let me just say, conferences in Hawaii are the best boondoggle I can think of.
July 5th, 2007 at 12:19 am
Hmm, can you just switch to a brand new color?
July 5th, 2007 at 1:01 am
Awww….

I am so, so sorry about your BSJ. I hope the lumberjacks cheered you up.
July 5th, 2007 at 4:34 am
I have BSJ on the brain. I meant you Feb baby jacket.

Gosh, it really is a gorgeous item, I’d hate to see it frogged.
I hope you can figure out the colorway and maybe get in contact with someone who had one lying around.
July 5th, 2007 at 12:13 pm
wow the dinner AND the sweater look DELISH!!!
July 5th, 2007 at 12:45 pm
That is a damn shame. It is so cute.
At least dinner looks delicious…

Hi, I’ve never posted here before, but I’ve been reading for a while.
Could you find another color that you love in that same yarn and cut the lace pattern short (well, when the yarn runs out) and do the garter in the contrasting color? You could also rip the garter on the sleeves and do that in the contrasting color as well. Anyway, just an idea…cause I wouldn’t want to rip that sweater!
Lovely dinner…I heart pesto.

Mmmm dinner looks good. Sounds good too.
I am SO sorry about the yarn problem. It is very sad. Such beautiful and yummy colors too. *sniffle*

I’m soooo sorry about the frogging! It looks so gorgeous though and it would really reduce me to tears if I were to do it.
July 5th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
That sweater is so cute! How awful that the second skein has gone missing. I would need chocolate to get through that.
Dinner looks quite delicious! M does most of our cooking (I can cook, I’m just lazy), and he doesn’t like green beans or arugula, so I don’t think I can count on him to make this. I shall have to brave the kitchen.
I hope you had fun at the Lumberjack Fest! I first read log splitting as log spitting–now that would take a real Paul Bunyan.

Damn. It looks like you’ll get pretty close, but I guess midriff-baring baby cardigans just aren’t the thing…
July 6th, 2007 at 4:36 am
I hear baby shrugs are all the rage these days.
Seriously… that is truly heartbreaking. It looks so lovely and so innocent in the photo.
July 6th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Please don’t frog it! It’ll make me cry!
lol really it’s too lovely… there’s got to be a way to save it.
July 7th, 2007 at 3:44 am
Ack what are you going to do? Can you gently bring in some stripes into the lower part of the body? Or make it a dramatic statement and change the rest of it to a shade of blue or yellow?
July 7th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
Okay, that’s a tragedy:-( It is so cute. maybe for a really short baby??
July 7th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
Oh, the agony. I tried to come up with a constructive suggestion to offer you, but there isn’t one, except maybe bind off and call it a bolero?
On the plus side, my Feb Sweaters got rave reviews at the shower this morning (”It must have taken you a month to knit that!”), so the response you’ll get will probably be worth the re-do.
July 8th, 2007 at 1:26 am
The pesto looks yummy!
The knitting looks great too. So sad if you have to frog.
July 9th, 2007 at 1:49 am
I need a blog category for “despair,” I think. You’ll find the yarn! I’m sure of it. That sweater is going to be a cutie.
July 9th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
Oh, that’s terrible–I hope you find the other ball of yarn! I DO love that color, though–it looks great!
Mmm, that meal sounds good, too. I”m travelling right now, so any healthy, home-cooked, veg-friendly meal sounds perfect!
July 9th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
Eeek! I’m sorry you are going to run out of yarn! That totally sucks!
Um, your dinner is making me so hungry right now! YUM!
