wee bag
I’m moving up in the Single Sock Movement, though I can’t compete with some people! I’ve got a Zokni and a Monkey done, and another modular Tiffany sock ready to cast on.
In the meantime, I made a quick little bag for my friend Alisha.
My first bag like this, it was more different from garment sewing than I expected — so much teensier! Maybe now I’m ready to get started on some sewn baby clothes for my sister.

I’ve been meaning to make some of these, but I haven’t taken the time yet… I just knit socks instead!

I’m gonna comment on the colors, too. Love the fabric on the outside and the rich red on the inside that is just hinted at on the outside. Uh-huh. Very cool.

The SSM is gaining such momentum these days. But people, think ahead to the future! Let’s face it, there are going to be a lot of lonely, single socks out there that will *never* have partners. Is this the future we want to create??? (hehehe) :0)
Love the pouch!

Cute bag! I tried sewing doll clothes once. Waaay too small! I thought I was going to sew through my finger trying to topstitch a doll-size sleeveless arm facing. More power to you!

Very cute. Sewing is scary for me.

That looks fabulous! The fabric is gorgeous, and I agree, the zipper installation is PERFECT. I am afraid of zippers.

Yay, single socks! I love how there are still so many people out there saying WTF?? What are you DOING knitting single socks?? WHAT EVER WILL THE KNITTING WORLD DOOOOOOO???
Great little pouch. Love the fabric!

inset zipper?! I think you’re ready for haute couture.
June 19th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
Wait, all those fancy shirts, and you’ve never made a teeny little bag like that? You jumped in with both feet, girl.

Fantastic fabric - I think when I was a little kid I used to have a bag made from something similar, it’s definitely giving me some kind of deja vu.

My friend’s brother calls little zip-up purses (change-sized purses) “pocket jazz.” I love that name. I’ve been meaning to make myself pocket jazz for a while now — to keep laundry quarters, etc. in. You’ve re-inspired me…
